BIOGRAPHY

Alicia Steinke

Alicia Steinke is enthusiastic, lively, and loves to paint. She is a bit of a synesthete, and relates specific colors to the days of the week and the months of the year. She looks forward to coming to open studio every week to paint with her energetic, bold strokes of thick paint on large canvases. The more paint, the better. Her personality and presence is represented by her abstract, bold, and beautiful paintings. In the past, Steinke has also created large artworks comprised of abstract paintings on paper which are crumpled up and sculpted to create stand-alone 3D sculptures.

Steinke also enjoys listening to music and playing instruments. She is a regular in both music therapy and the Art & Music Together class. She has been attending classes at the OSLP Arts & Culture Program since the winter of 2014. She has had shows in the community as part of group exhibitions, and had her own solo exhibition at the WOW Hall in Eugene in 2017.
