Summer Art Classes in Downtown Eugene, Oregon

Classes begin Tuesday, July 15th and run through Friday, September 12th.

Tuesday Art Classes

Open Studio, 10 am to 1 pm. Our Open Studio sessions provide studio time for individuals to work on any project they like, with access to our supplies and coaching from our instructor. Each week, we will offer a new craft or art medium to try, but those are always optional. Artists enjoy open studio as a flexible time to work on art, socialize with other participants, and learn new techniques.

Mixed Media Sculpture with April, 2 pm to 3:30 pm. April will guide participants in making 3D art pieces using papier mache, air-dry clay, cardboard, and recycled materials. Each week will focus on a different aspect of creating sculptures, such as armature, structure, papier mache mixing, volume, detailing, painting, and decorating.

Wednesday Art Classes

Open Studio, 10 am to 1 pm.

Improv Acting with Jeff, 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Jeff Crews is a long-time improv performer and teacher who will teach participants basic theatre games. Improv is a fun and often silly way to explore communication, listening, acting, performing, and movement. This class is great for anyone interested in acting or comedy or who enjoys shows like Make Some Noise or Whose Line is it Anyway?

Thursday Art Classes

Open Studio, 10 am to 1 pm.

Printmaking with Hannah, 2 pm to 3:30 pm. Make your own printed art. Printmaking has various applications and allows artists to reproduce their work easily. Print different colors and layers of your work, and learn how to make your own stamps and print your own t-shirts. Artist Hannah Becker will teach a new form of printmaking each week, including lino prints, gelli plates, potato and cardboard stamps, screen printing, and fabric prints. Artists can learn how to make their patterns used for wrapping paper, wall art, collage materials, clothing, or many other print applications.

Friday Art Class

Mosaic Musings with Stephanie, 10 am to 11:30 am. One of our most popular classes is back for summer. Create beautiful designs with pieces of colored glass. This class often fills up when registration opens, so mark your calendars!
