EUGENE, OR.— This October, Radiant Community Arts is collaborating with artist Elizabeth Foley and The Hope & Safety Alliance to raise awareness and support for domestic violence survivors.
The exhibition, titled Rebirth, will feature paintings and sculptures by Foley, as well as works by artists from across the country. There is an open call for submissions for the show, open until August 22nd. Fifteen percent of the art sales will benefit The Hope & Safety Alliance. Artwork should represent the courage, resilience, and strength of survivors of domestic violence. Curated by visiting artist Elizabeth Foley, “Rebirth” brings together a diverse collection of artworks from survivors across the United States. Each piece reflects the journey from trauma to healing. “I want this work to inspire more conversation about domestic violence,” says Foley. “It’s important to show myself and others that we don’t need to hide this part of who we are.”
The exhibition will open during the First Friday ArtWalk on October 3rd and will be on display in the Radiant gallery until November 21st. Foley will also be offering two workshops on Saturday, October 4th:
• 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Red Thread Circle – A free community gathering specifically for survivors, offering space for connection, sharing, and witnessing. Pre-registration encouraged; donations welcomed
• 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM: “Becoming Your Own Beloved” Workshop led by Elizabeth Foley – An experiential workshop exploring self-compassion and healing through creative practice. $47, includes all supplies. Space limited to 15 participants.
